Applying for your firearm
PROFICIENCY TRAINING
We are a fully accredited training facility in KZN where businesses & individuals can complete their proficiency/training to apply for their SAPS competency.
Our facility offers a fully equipped classroom as well as a safe indoor range where learners can learn, shoot, and complete their SAPS competency training.
APPLY FOR COMPETENCY
Once you have completed and awarded your training certificates you can apply to your nearest SAPS DFO

Certified Copy of your ID/Passport

Certified Copy of your permanent residence permit in case of a non- South African citizen
-
Certified Copy of firearm proficiency training certificate issued by an accredited training provider

Two passport-size colour photographs
-
Certified Proof of residence
APPLY FOR FIREARM LICENSE
After you have obtained a competency certificate
Submit the completed SAPS 271 form and the following documents to your nearest DFO.

Certified copy of your official identification document

Your original competency certificate
-
The letter of appointment of the executor, if the firearm was inherited

Two passport-size colour photographs (with a neutral background) that are not older than three months
-
You must fully motivate your application and submit documents in support of your application.
